Can I age your brass hardware? How do I take off the lacquer coating?

All of our brass hardware has a clear lacquer coating over top of the finish which prevents premature aging and scratches. Our proprietary lacquer on our hardware products is designed to protect the hardware and not to be removed. If you do wish to remove it to accelerate the aging process, we do not have specific product recommendations for this, but have heard customers have had success with tumblers, acetone removers, and plenty of elbow grease!
